First 200 Mississippi businesses are Founding Merchants

For local businesses

Stop paying 15–30% to sell. Keep more, and give it back to your community.

Every other marketplace takes a cut of your sale — 15% on Amazon, ~20% on Etsy with ads, up to 30% on the delivery apps. Good Circles takes a 1% fee on profit, so you keep about 89% of your profit. The money those platforms were extracting goes instead to your customer (they save ~10%) and to a local nonprofit they choose — turning every sale into loyalty and community impact. Free to join.

The fee isn't the cost — the extraction is

A 15–30% platform cut isn't a marketing expense — it's margin leaving your community for a server farm in another state. The marketplaces in the middle have made themselves the most expensive part of a local sale, while the people who actually make and sell the goods keep less and less. Good Circles is built on the opposite premise: the intermediary should be the cheapest part of the transaction, not the costliest.

So we take 1% of profit and redirect what the other platforms were skimming into two places that actually grow your business: your customer's pocket (about 10% back, which brings them back) and a local nonprofit (which gives your store a reason to be chosen). Same sale, different rails — and the value stays local.

Where every dollar of a $100 sale goes

Example: a $100 sale with $50 of cost. The platform's cut is what leaves your community.

Amazon (15%)

$15.00 to the platform
$0 to your customer
$0 to your community
You keep $35.00 profit

DoorDash (30%)

$30.00 to the platform
$0 to your customer
$0 to your community
You keep $20.00 profit

Good Circles

$0.40 to the platform
$10.00 to your customer
$4.00 to your community
You keep $35.60 profit (pre-tax)

You keep more here than on Amazon ($35.00) or DoorDash ($20.00) — and the $15–$30 those platforms pocket becomes $10 for your customer and $4 for a local nonprofit. No ad spend, no credit card processing cost to you, and the community giving is tax-deductible. Run your own numbers (and the after-tax view) in the calculator below.

Why it's tax-smart. Good Circles charges a 1% fee on profit, costs you nothing in ads (your customers come from local nonprofits and their supporters), and passes credit card processing to the customer who chooses to use a card. And because it's a commercial co-venture, the 10% that funds a local nonprofit is deductible as a business expense — against your business and self-employment income, without the caps on a personal charitable gift — while the ~10% you give your customer is simply untaxed.

Illustration only — not tax advice. Deductibility depends on your entity, income, and how the arrangement is characterized; confirm with your CPA. Competitor "fee" is the typical published all-in rate (verified 2026-06-22); set the fee and your ad spend to your real numbers.

Where this is going

The goal is bigger than a cheaper marketplace. Good Circles is building toward a local economy that provides every good and service people need below today's market cost, while the savings become household spending power, a slice of every sale passively funds local nonprofits, and the business keeps more of what it earns. When enough of a community's spending runs on these rails, the money that used to leak out compounds at home instead. You don't just sell on Good Circles — you help build that.

Questions

Selling on Good Circles — FAQ

What does it cost to sell on Good Circles?

It is free to join — no setup, monthly, or listing fees. You pay a 1% fee on profit only when you make a sale. That replaces the 15–30% commissions most marketplaces and delivery apps charge on the full price of every order.

Will I really keep more than on Amazon, Etsy, or DoorDash?

It depends on what you sell and where. Against high-fee platforms like the delivery apps, Groupon, Amazon, or lead-generation sites, you almost always keep more per sale on Good Circles. Against already low-fee channels like Etsy's base fees or your own store, your take-home is similar — the difference is that the margin goes to your customer (about 10% off) and a local nonprofit instead of to a platform. Use the calculator with your own numbers to see your real figure.

How do my customers and community benefit?

Customers save about 10% on local purchases, which is real spending power that stays in the local economy. And 10% of the merchant's profit on every sale funds a local nonprofit your customer chooses — a charitable contribution that may be tax-deductible (consult your tax advisor).

Who can sell — only product businesses?

Both goods and services. Restaurants, makers, retailers, tradespeople, salons, and service providers can all sell on Good Circles. Early access is underway in Meridian and Lauderdale County, we launch on schedule in September 2026 in the Jackson, Mississippi metro, and the first 200 Mississippi businesses become Founding Merchants.
